Study on corrosion of co2 in pipelines in the presence of hydrate

Abstract

A set of natural gas hydrate loop device which can be used to measure the CO2 corrosion behavior was designed and manufactured. Corrosion simulation experiments were carried out using this natural gas hydrate loop. The effects of hydrate, transport temperature, pressure and other factors on the CO2 corrosion rate of X80 steel in the presence of hydrate were studied by weight loss method. The results show that the corrosion rate of X80 steel in the presence of hydrates is higher than that of gas-liquid equilibrium and the corrosion of the sample is uniform corrosion. By comparing the calculation results of the solubility of CO2 in the water phase with the presence of hydrates, the reasons for this phenomenon were analyzed from the perspective of the change of the solubility of CO2.
