Abstract

Unpublished theory suggests that carbon isotope discrimination depends on the ratio of intercellular and atmospheric CO2 concentrations. The changes in discrimination caused by physiological changes in plants themselves are potentially important in the context of examining tree rings for evidence of climatic change, including changes of global atmospheric CO2 concentration.-from Author
