Abstract

The operational mechanism of an acoustooptical modulated cavity dumping Nd:YAG laser has been researched and analysed systematically in this paper. The stable state (build-up period) and unstable state (dumping period) rate equations were built. In connection with optimum parameters in continuous operating Nd:YAG laser, the analytic and numerical solutions of the practical and phonton field were derived from the rate equations. Effect of an acoustooptical modulated specification on laser pulse specification has been discussed in detail.
