Abstract
In 15 out of 16 sphalerite-galena pairs, there has been a relative concentration of the heavier sulfur isotope in the sphalerite. Comparison of results from many areas suggests that fractionation decreases with increasing metamorphic grade. Applications to geologic thermometry may be significant.
