A Smart Flexible Tool to Improve Reading Skill based on M-Learning

Abstract

Mobile education has opened the way to new prospects and means of accessing education, as a great advancement in smartphones has paved the way for the emergence of millions of mobile applications and services, which have contributed to changing and developing all areas of life, the most important of which is the education sector. Mobile learning (M-Learning) has contributed to creating more flexible, intelligent, and accessible learning opportunities and means for users, and has also helped in supporting self-paced, adaptive learning. This paper presents a new idea for an application based on voice recognition algorithms and converting it into text to provide a dynamic, adaptive platform for teaching reading. The application and its mechanism of action will be fully described, and the use of the application will be proposed in two important areas, firstly to solve the problem of reading the Holy Qur'an for non-Arabic speaking Muslims, especially since some of the words of the Qur'an are written in a different way they read, and secondly, to help parents solve the pronunciation problem of dyslexic children. We developed the proposed application in the Android environment to confirm the possibility of implementing the idea and its effectiveness.
