Abstract

The reaction of N-methyl-2-mercaptoimidazole (methimazole, Hmt) with NaN(SiMe3)2, [PdCl2(L)3] (L = PPh3, NCMe) and SnCl4 provides the novel tetrabicyclo[3.3.3.3.0] lantern compound [PdSn(μ-mt)4Cl 2] (1) in which a dative PdII→SnIV bond is housed within
