Cultural advice

The Australian National University acknowledges, celebrates and pays our respects to the Ngunnawal and Ngambri people of the Canberra region and to all First Nations Australians on whose traditional lands we meet and work, and whose cultures are among the oldest continuing cultures in human history.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are advised that ANU Library collections may include images, names, voices, and other representations of deceased persons.

Excited-state optically detected nuclear-magnetic-resonance signals have been observed in a Eu3+ center for what we believe to be the first time. There is negligible pseudoquadrupolar contribution to the quadrupole splitting in the D05 excited state and the ratio of the resonant frequencies is consequently equal to the ratio of the electric quadrupole moments of the two naturally abundant europium isotopes. This ratio of the Eu153 and Eu151 quadrupole moments is determined to be 2.556±0.005.en
