Abstract

Multiple-input-mulriple-ourput systems are considered which are linear, time-invariant, and finite dimensional and which possess a decentralized fixed mode. A transfer function characterization of this property is developed, which allows characterization also of the degree of a fixed mode, this concept being given a meaningful definition in the course of the paper.
