Abstract

Some optical and magneto-optical properties of a new antiferromagnetic material K3Ni2F7 are described. Its magnetic properties lie between those of K2NiF4 and KNiF3. Crystals are tetragonal, spacegroup D174n (No. 139) with a = 4.028 Å, c = 21.18 Å, z = 2 formula units per cell.
